This body of work explores obsession, particularly my guilt and pleasure about painting Lara Croft, the Tomb Raider. Not only did I become fascinated with her role as a strong female protagonist in the predominantly male sphere of video gaming, I was also intrigued by the digital landscapes that comprised her world. This body of works embodies neighborliness, foreign belonging, and concepts of proximity through an examination of the virtual world as an intellectual and emotional space, engaging the viewer on a more personal and contemplative level.
