"The Wrong side of the bed"
A short film made as part of the exhibition Alberto Giacometti/Douglas Gordon for the Giacometti Institute during my studies at the Gobelins school.
A young man wakes up, we see him in his daily life. But the people around him turn into strange creatures (reference to the work of Giacometti and Douglas Gordon). His reality then becomes a nightmare. He notice in the end that he is also a creature.
During the debrief we had, we were told that Giacometti liked black novels and Gordon liked black films. Genres that seem to be reflected in their works and whose codes seemed interesting to me to exploit.
Thus, I wanted to put forward the idea of the monster that sleeps in each of us, that is there and that we do not accept, that pursues us and that we cannot escape. To represent these monsters I was directly inspired by the works of Giacometti and Gordon.
Thus, I wanted to put forward the idea of the monster that sleeps in each of us, that is there and that we do not accept, that pursues us and that we cannot escape. To represent these monsters I was directly inspired by the works of Giacometti and Gordon.
song lyrics
Of DIEGO AYALA RAFFALLI
A creature filled with anger
That has been out for days
A wicked curse of darkened bronze
I might have gone insane
Mysterious behavior
Of my fleeting sanity
The elongated arms and legs
I see in front of me
Believe it now
I believe it now
Believe it now
I believe it now
