I've been a Star Wars addict since the first movie hit the theaters back in 1977. Kenner's Star Wars toy line played a major role in my addiction, so I decided to bring some of the vintage Kenner playsets back to life in augmented realty using Adobe Aero. Thanks to high-quality PDF scans I found of some of the cardboard backings, I virtually rebuilt these playsets for vintage Star Wars toy collectors to enjoy through their own AR devices.

The first playset I recreated was the Star Wars Cloud City playset. Originally released in 1980 as a Sears exclusive, this playset was made entirely of cardboard and was packaged with four action figures from Empire Strikes Back. By using Adobe Aero, I took high-resolution PDF scans of the original playset and assembled them into a 3D AR model. The PDF scans used in this AR model were provided by the Erik Stormtrooper's Imperial Gallery site, http://www.erikstormtrooper.com/.

The second AR playset I did was the 1978 Cantina Adventure playset, another Sears exclusive that is known by fans as the playset that included the blue Snaggletooth action figure.

The third playset I recreated is Land of the Jawas. For this AR model, I used a scan I found on Sketchfab of the plastic base for the Palitoy version of this playset that was released in the UK.
