BRANDING THROUGH JAMAICAN ILLUSTRATION
Further vector art that I produced for a Caribbean street food brand which I created in response to a brief forming part of the A-level Graphic Design course. I chose this path as I believe that this area of the world and its' culture is rarely seen in Britain. The intention was to create these illustrations to be implemented onto final pieces such as poster designs, leaflets and t-shirts to help advertise the brand.
Vector image of former athletics 100m world champion and Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt, using Adobe Illustrator and specifically the pen tool. This was so that I could clearly display details such as creases on the individual's clothing and their muscular features. In terms of colour, the gradient tool is utilized to demonstrate the light exposure from the original image.
The working process and the final outcome for my second illustration showing iconic musician Bob Marley. It felt like a must to include Bob Marley due to the worldwide popularity of his music and messages of peace and positivity. This would help my target audience of young adults easily recognise my brand and what kind of products it is likely to offer and also give an idea of what the brand stands for.
For my final illustration, I felt that an illustration was needed that resembled the colour palette I adopted for my brand more closely which included red, yellow, and green. I, therefore, decided to create another vector image of Bob Marley but this time singing. Less detail was put into the facial features of this design as I wanted the target audience to be drawn in by the colour and detail within the clothing. I am very proud of this illustration and felt that it was the strongest design.
All dimensions in the above images are 297mm x 210mm, 842 x 595 px and resolution of 150 ppi.
