Fakira, having his wound treated by Naya Daur Social Worker, Debapriya Dasgupta, a complete stranger. Having wandered off from home years ago, Fakira still yearns to meet his father.

Dhanopati, an alcoholic, cast off from his family and failed by a society that never understood that addiction is not a choice, it’s a mental ailment.

Having run away from her home in Bihar, been physically and mentally abused by her husband and family members to a state of psychosis, Usha lives on the streets of Nimtala, working odd jobs, missing her kids.

Munni Di’s eyes that continue to ask the same question, a question left unanswered by her husband who looked the other way, a question she asked every day before she left him for good, “Can I have something to eat?”
