Packaging Framework | Sony Ericsson | 2010

Packaging
Packaging framework is an annual, comprehensive concept study where an inspiring end result can represent the company next year. Our group presented concepts based on keywords such as tactility and playfulness. The motto was to “Make people smile”. And they did. The following shows my contribution.

Flat packaging – “Perfume box”
The name comes from the biggest inspiration for this design – the perfume boxes. The product photo is shown in actual size and is being supported by the colours and elements of the brand.

Jewellery box  - “fall out box”
For this concept, a new way of print technique the ,so called Thermal print, was used. It’s a heating coated paper that is placed on the artwork and when holding the box you’ll be, temporarily, leaving a trace and your fingerprints will create a new pattern. When doing so, the underlying print, will appear. A playful and beautiful way to engaged the consumer.

When lifting the lid, the bottom part will fall out and you´ll be having three small ”candy” boxes to open.

The graphics on the inside shows a ”Map of people" that had has worked with this project. This adds a personal value for the consumer and makes him/her feel special.

UXC concept creation project
In this interdisciplinary concept project, I was assigned to create a packaging for a product, targeting creators out there. I came up with 3 ways.

Box 1: “3D”
Since the project was about creativity, the consumer will start creating instantly when receiving this box. By using the 3D glasses the consumer will create an image of the product that lies inside.
When lifting the lid you’ll find a silk paper that is wrapped around the product. The ”pattern” on the silk paper is the actual user manual that is printed with a tone on tone effect.

Box 2 – “Note book”
An ordinary notebook was the biggest inspiration for this packaging. The focus was about the post purchase confirmation and this box is slightly more expansive because of the material choises.

BOX 3 - “Perfume box – Large size”
Retail adaptation of project, shows the product in actual size being supported by the brand. The fun lies on the inside, where you find the smiling face.
