Lakerida is a new fish shop opened in Istanbul/Etiler. We created a new atmosphere by modernizing the previously traditional fish shop. We planned to make the space more spacious and interesting by using natural materials and colors inspired by nature. But we kept those traditions without moving away from the traditional fisherman's shop.
Easy-to-clean materials were chosen as the fish shop must always be sterile.
By using spot lighting in the space, we have made the areas more direct and made those areas more important.
The fish counter has a different design than the traditional one. The designed fish bench is shaped by wrapping the column in the middle. In this way, it was possible to exhibit and sell sea creatures on more than one surface. Washable stainless materials are used on the front surfaces and a sense of continuity is created by making both the surface with the appetizer counters next to it.
Philosophically, the space is designed as sea and land. The part where sea creatures and appetizers are sold is considered as the sea. On the upper part, it has been transformed into a place where delicatessen products are available. While simpler colors and materials are used in the sea part, warmer and natural materials are used in the land part. In this way, a sense of depth is created in the space, ensuring that the curiosity of the customers is kept alive until the back.
