Stardew Valley 3D Project

3D Project! -Stardew Valley- 2022
For this project I decided to show off the ability to create a 3D model from concept art, and what better way to do that then recreate a house from a 2D video game! 
To start this project I pulled in the sprite of the house so I can get the size and proportions right, then proceeded to create the house exactly how I saw it, which turned out to be a mistake later.
This is the second time jumping into Maya, so still pretty new to 3D modeling in general, I had to figure out where I went wrong. The first few things to stick out to me was that the colors where too drastic, and the roof panels should not differentiate in color, or at least not that much. Next was the model itself, the roof and wood panels had spaces between them to show natural gaps between tiles you see in real life, but same as the colors, they where way too drastic. So after teaching myself some more color planning to make sure it renders well and how to subtly show gaps, along with a better understanding of poly modeling, I was able to throw this old house away and make a even better house three times as fast as I did the first house! This time adding environment and detail.  
I learned so much from this project, and with how much fun I had learning it all, this project alone was the main spark igniting my fiery love for 3D modeling! SO many more projects on their way.
