The Dream That Never Existed: Anthology Book

The Dream That Never Existed

An editorial anthology book documenting the desperate time of The Great Depression and the development of The American Dream. It takes the viewpoint that the Dream was an ideal that showed disregard for the feelings and situation of much of the population living in poverty. Utilising a distressed design combined with grainy, ripped and blurred imagery, it aims to reflect a somber and desperate mood.
Below are examples of a few digital spreads, as well as the handmade method of creating them. Body copy was set digitally and then printed out. On the print out, imagery was ripped and glued, paint was applied as were various tapes. The whole design was then scanned into the computer and the colours tweaked.
