One of the main functions of an Umbrella is to block the sun by going in front of the sun, just like the moon does during an eclipse.

The light transmittance can be adjusted with the double-overlapped curtain mechanism by rotating the upper curtain . When the holes on the fabric intersect, it cuts the light like in an eclipse.
