We created a unique documentary about local winemakers for the Bratislava region. We gradually captured their whole year, from the cut, through the harvest to the tasting.

We experienced a lot of beautiful things together, but I also knew their suffering. Exaggerated deer devastate their crops every year. They have to solve this problem every day, fences, night patrols. But all bad is good for something. It shows that they have vineyards in the open to nature, where animals thrive.
Modra village is known for ceramics. And if you don't know it because of that, you should! Blue and white plates, jugs and mugs are probably on every corner. When I started working on the story, I even thought it was the Blue village. But my Slovak wife corrected me.

But Modra is not just about ceramics, it is mainly a wine region. Wine is produced there by different types of people. Mayors, electricians, but also families with a long history. Communism hit the Modran winemakers much harder than the Moravian ones, and so it took a little longer before it could all continue there again.
