American figure skater Vincent Zhou tested positive for HIV-19 Sunday and is unable to compete in the men's singles competition, which starts Tuesday morning in Beijing (Monday night in the United States).

He went through further trials, hoping to achieve a negative result and compete, US Patishing said in a statement. On Monday morning in the United States, he posted on Instagram an emotional video announcing his withdrawal.

The 21-year-old Brown University Student is attending his second Olympic Games. Although not considered to be a medal-winner in individual competitions, he is a popular and talented competitor who could certainly rise to the occasion.

"It seems quite unrealistic that it happens to me by all people, not only because I will still process this reversal of events, but also because I have done everything in my power to remain free of COVID since the beginning of the pandemic," said Zhou in the video. "I have taken all the precautions I can take. I have become so isolated that the loneliness I have felt in the last few months or two has sometimes been crushed'.

Zhou, 21, had time in the team skate portion of competitions Sunday morning Beijing and was pleased to welcome his teammates from the teambox. The US team won a silver medal minutes before the release of the Zhou Positive Test message. He was apparently not present at the medal ceremony and his teammates told the press that they had recorded a video wishing him well.

In his own video Zhou said that team silver helped him realize his dream of meditation at the Olympic Games, 카지노사이트 even though he is not able to compete in the single event. He thanked his teammates for helping make this dream a reality.

"I have already lost the number of weeping today," he said. "I am happy to say that at least one of these days was happy, and that was when I discovered that I became an Olympic silver medalist."

Through tears Zhou spoke to his younger self and encouraged himself to be proud of his achievements despite this setback. "And the future Vincent who watches this would be so proud of your younger self of the athletes and the people you've become," he said. "When you sit young on the couch watching these great skaters on TV,  studying their jumps at the table every evening and going to the rink and skate at 4 a.m. or earlier and double jumps, you had no idea what you were up to. But you had a dream and followed him."

Zhou hopes to take part in the World Cup in March and plans to return to Brown University in the autumn. He did not rule out going back for a third Olympic cycle and at the end of his video said that this was not the end of his career.

'That is not the end,' he said. "This is a setup for a bigger comeback."
