Skillbox Alumni is a supportive community for students and graduates, fostering networking and offering career development opportunities.
Our task was to create their core visual identity, and a number of digital and print items. One of the challenges was to create a branding concept that would be distinct and expressive yet in line with the parent brand.
The overarching theme for the child brand is outer space. Our students and graduates are those bright stars on the career sky. In the graduate community they can connect with each other and form constellations, shining ever brighter together.
Visually we are expressing this with themes illustrations and this minimalistic rounded star (which is used a logomark, as a base for our pattern and as a mask for photographs). We also used a lot of dark graphite colour - it is another reference to the outer space but it is also helping us differentiate ourselves from the parent brand.
We kept the connection to the parent brand by using the same font and the “Skillbox” part of the logo intact, and by keeping the general feel modern, friendly, caring & fun.
