Hokkovido is the title of a short book inspired by the change of our concepts of the inside and the outside – caused by closed borders, isolation and other restrictions due to the pandemic. By using an experimental mapping technique, we visualized changes in our perceptions of these two opposites and the space in between. The pumpkin functions as the protagonist and as the object of our studies of the borders and boundaries of the inside and the outside. In addition, we transferred the concept of inner and outer restrictions to the medium we used: Three cameras and precisely one film each were used to take the pictures for the book, complemented by graphic elements and text.
