Weather Trends International provides companies like Walmart, Coca Cola and Target with weather analytics which drive business decisions based on long range forecasting. WTI faced the challenge of delivering that forecast data through a web based application which lacked the necessary cohesiveness for an intuitive user experience. In order for their platform to become ubiquitous with ease of use and accessibility, it needed to take a new approach to their data visualization and user experience design.
Our team delivered a world class user interface that was designed to match WTI’s ambitious backend and complex data models. The strategy behind our redesign efforts focused on making information the catalyst for delivering actionable data rather than the end result. We took a “user first” approach by making the otherwise cumbersome information architecture, heuristics and functionality available within reach of a few simple clicks. The end result consisted of a balance between rich data and robust analytics living in harmony and delivered with enough simplicity for any user to embrace.
