Clarendon - playing with letters

CLARENDON FONT
School project made while I was an Erasmus student in Czech Republic.

The assignment was to make a poster using a handmade font.
I chose to make an adaptation for Clarendon. Simple suggestive words like: work, play, dream, were made out of different materials, placed in a suitable background and then photographed.

Some of the letters were made on the spot, in the photography atelier (for example, the letters from “food WORK” composition) and other were made at home, using paper, glue and other materials.

“PLAY” had colorful pieces, suggesting a childish atmosphere, “WORK” was used to describe different types of activities like architectural or mathematical work, cooking as in "food work", and then a composition using more than just one element, to describe the general idea of work. For “DREAM”, the letters were cut into a cardboard paper, filled with cotton wool and then luminated in order to suggest a dreamy atmosphere.
