1. The Rebranding
History is, at all costs, the portrayal of an impartiality regarding everything time can be counted on, and time is the source of history and as time goes by history is made everywhere.
The quest of rebranding a TV channel such as the History Channel, which covers matters of such, goes through the process of dividing time into different chronological periods and developing on those lines a brand new versatile identity which aims to coherently differentiate history and the context in which every period may be inserted at all.
H, of History, becomes this new identity’s landmark and its dynamism of adaptivity towards all the history that lie among various eras gives up endless, changing representative possibilities for the broadcasted TV content. Furthermore, the prospect of adding fresh, new variations to different contexts builds to an identity that aims to grow and change over time, just like history.
The idents explore the irregularity of the history and, as expected, some of its various times, while maintaining graphic consistency. We have chosen to explore various styles video which makes the channel richest, dynamic and less tiring for the beholder.
The tabs not only maintain graphic consistency with everything else presented as give the channel a some variety of solutions for certain times. For example, we created tabs for programs presentation, tabs of “next” type that works during a program, tabs that appear following a program and show what will be presented next, among others. With them we aspire to create a proper functioning of the channel and presentation of content.
