Attending music festivals is a feat of strength on its own no matter why somebody chooses to participate in the week long madness. Bartenders, doctors, security and ofcourse the party people all put their endurance to the test during these events. These portraits were taken during the last day of the hugely succesful Sziget festival held in Budapest, Hungary, 2013.
Joni worked the odd days with his brother and partied every other day. He got sick on the very last day and had to go home
Karoly is the boss and founder of the Sziget festival, naturally all his energies are focused on Sziget during this one week
Niek took rode the train for 20 hours from the Netherlands to attend Sziget. Admittedly he had quite a few "boosts" during the festival to keep partying.
Maeva was wearing the flag of her native Bretagne, a region of France all week. The festival attracts a lot of young people for the west of Europe and has a dedicated PR operation focused on France.
Viktoria is the Communications Chief at Sziget and takes literally thousand of calls leading up to and during the festival
Kyung is from South Korea and moonlights as a professional PSY imitator. He adores the K-Pop star and is determined to spread Korean culture through his roleplaying
Dr. Szeles is the head medical officer at the festival. When setting up the black backdrop for this portrait he remarked: "We use this material to bag 'em up when they go overboard".
Nora worked at one of the many makeshift bars scattered around the festival. She worked til the evenings and partied after, but just so that she could be fit to work the next day.
Alice came to Sziget to wind down from all the other festival she attended during the summer
Janos is one of the senior security officers at Sziget. Giving orders to about 70 people, he spends most of his summer working festivals, but during the year he is head of security at the Central European University.
Nils, from Norway wore this hedhehog hat in blistering heat. "As long as I have cold beer it's fine" he joked.
Balazs was one of the official photographers of Sziget, he worked for up to 12-13 hrs a day.
