PLANNER DESIGN
Title Planner Carambaia (Carambaia Weekly Planner)
Client Carambaia, 2021
Publishing house Carambaia has a subdued visual identity meant to make their commissioned book designs shine.

The design for this weekly planner, targeted to their readers and collaborators, means to finally bring their visual identity (and logo) to the center stage. The ideia was to look beyond the logo and use the letter shapes in a playful yet elegant way to design a set of six different covers that still made Carambaia’s identity easily recognizable.
The starting point for this design were the client’s logo and the six letters it contains: C, A, R, M, B, and I. By playing with strokes, fills, angles and juxtapositions, a set of six different black-and-white covers were designed, each using one of the logo’s letters (set in Verlag). The covers were printed black on coated white paper, then received matt lamination and embossed texture. Finishes include a black ribbon, red endpapers and red painted edges.
Beyond the covers, the week-by-week internal spreads feature quotes (set in Chronicle Text). and illustrations from some of the publisher’s best known books. Additional spreads include monthly calendars, current and future reading lists and bulleted pages for general notes and sketches.
