VMA
Located on Banjica hill, the Military Medical Academy (Vojnomedicinska akademija; abbr. VMA) building is one of the architectural symbols of Belgrade.
Designed by architects Josip Osojnik and Slobodan Nikolic in 1973.
Completed in 1982, it was one of the biggest hospitals in the former Yugoslavia.
Today this huge building, clad in marble, copper and aluminium, appears to be way ahead of its time and is reminiscent of Zaha Hadid's architecture in its futuristic forms.
