Chameleon Words

English words through the eyes of a foreign speaker.

As a Portuguese speaker, a Romance language that developed from Latin, I often found my self looking at words and wondering how to pronounce them.
Even more often I would pronounce them in a way that they would mean something totally different from what I meant.
Then, I would find the same word, same spelling, but depending on a sentence it would be pronounced in a different way and would have different meanings.

I found this very interesting and decided to dig deeper into it!

These are Heteronyms, a type of words that are spelled the same but have different meanings and sound different. So visually when we look to one of these words one doesn't know what they mean, we need to put them into context.

Much like Chameleons, these words hide themselves in sentences.

This project is a part of a series of words, where I visually tried to represent the flexibility of meaning!
