Fraud in Dante's Divine Comedy

DANTE'S DIVINE COMEDY
The concept for this project is on the poems of Dante Alighieri from The Divine Comedy published in 14th century in Italy, specifically the first edition ‘Dante’s Inferno’ which goes through the nine layers of hell. The idea was to incorporate the given words to portray these levels of hell in a more ominous and sinister approach. The poem is an aspect of Dante’s version of Christianity but my intention is not to concentrate on the religious aspect but rather the concept of this poet’s ideology what he thinks the value of humans morals and ethics are but with my own philosophy instead. The each rank of hell I placed one of the words, sometimes multiple words work for the specific rank depending later on final decisions, elimination through which words fits more competently with the rank.

COMMUNITY / FRAUD
Community’s concept is placed within the eight stage of Hell, fraud, where thieves, alchemists, impersonators, bankers live. With this I wanted to create jewellery which will be a representing the hidden deceit by using the basic idea of a tie and creating it with using chains and wires. The wires or chains represent the imperceptible agreement or contract of this expectation. The community correlation in this is how this deceitfulness effects not only the specific person but the web of consequences that can expand to surrounding environment of that person. In addition, fraud commonly is known to repeatedly until the criminal has been caught.
