Here's some fresh packaging designs for the Hype Tax cannabis brand.

The first is for Snow Man, a seasonal strain being sold this winter.

The second is a generic catch-all design they can use when they run out of any of the printed packaging designs they have or if a new strain becomes available faster than they can get new packaging designed and printed.

With supply chains being so unpredictable lately, this kind of flexibility is so critical for small businesses.

I had so much fun working on the generic packaging. I just went as cheesy and over the top as I could so I imagined the logo as an ostentatious gold chain.

To aid in illustrating the chains themselves, I made a pattern brush in Adobe Illustrator that created a Cuban Link chain in any shape I wanted. Since it was a pattern brush, I could adjust the stroke width to make a thicker or thinner chain quite easily.

This made a very handy guide when illustrating in Procreate. I am a huge fan of using Illustrator to do crafty stuff like this to help speed up and improve upon a hand drawn workflow. As they say: work smarter, not harder!
