"Sewing's Little Helper" is a sewing side cabinet designed and hand made by myself. It's still in a "prototype" stage but it came out pretty good. It as multiple storage functions for the day-to-day materials needed for the art of sewing. This lost art appears more often in the Portuguese artistic scene from the generations looking for hobbies/skills to overcome the 'crisis', both economically and spiritually. I decided to use the same momentum to create something useful, functional and minimal to support this art.
The legs rotate adjusting to the wall, creating an angle on the 'stairs; so the fabric can flow naturally without overlapping. The soft tones and the use of wood create a complicity with the sewing machine, becoming its 'little helper!
This project was a Christmas present I did for my sister-in-law in 2014.
