For my ART230 Typography course we were tasked with creating two separate abstract compositions. The final compositions were to include black and white letters and glyphs using Stempel Garamond and Neue Haas Grotesk. The compositions also needed to show various elements of typography anatomy and general design principles.

COMPOSITION 1: SANS SERIF-NEUE HAAS GROTESK

In this composition, I wanted to show alignment and focal point. By using the straight lines of various letters and the single round element I feel I was able to achieve these design principles.

COMPOSITION 2: SERIF-STEMPEL GARAMOND

In this second composition I wanted to show focal point and grouping. By using the angles, round elements and various letter sizes I was able to combine these design principles.
