This 3D printed advent calendar was produced while working at Faberdashery. We released 25 different designs for every day of December, available for free download on thingiverse.
Aims of the project -
Promote Faberdashery filament
Create a stylistically unified collection of objects
Printable on the smallest of build plates (100x100x100mm)
Require no support material
Designs should print in under an hour
Functional and decorative
I carried out all 3D modelling, printing and photography on the project. Design ideas were developed collaboratively between me and Faberdashery.
A set of approximately 30 ideas were modelled in 3D following initial sketching and brainstorming, the designs were then discussed and we decided to try and create a more uniform aesthetic to tie the collection together.
Aesthetic decisions -
The final object was released as 3 seemingly identical stl files, however each cracker contained a different print in place toy surprise that is only revealed once the cracker is printed and pulled apart.
A number of prototypes were produced along the way... all of which will be recycled.
