For this school project we were to choose a simple, recognizable object and create something visually from them in Photoshop. The object I chose was earbuds. We were to create seven different things using the seven different creative strategies: Combinations, Juxtaposition, Isolation, Metaphor/Simile, Change of Context/Environment, Physical/Shape Similarity, Material Change/Swap/Focus.

COMBINATION - For this one I wanted to combine a doodle with the earbuds. I chose to combine the word earbud with actual earbuds. To add to the doodle feel I put it on a lined piece of paper and added some other doodles to go along with it. 

JUXTAPOSITION - For this one I wanted show the difference between the earbuds and the zipper of the jacket. I did this by having the earbud strings merge with the zipper. I also added the matching color of the zipper to the earbuds so it looks like they combine together better. 

ISOLATION - For this one to show the isolation I had changed the color of one of the earbuds. I also flipped it to make it stand out even more from the others.

METAPHOR/SIMILIE - For this one I wanted to go off the idea that earbuds are a way that we can listen to our music. I showed this by having the ear piece of the earbuds literally be music notes. To add more visual interest I added the music note ear pieces to what looks like an out of control sheet music. 

CHANGE OF CONTEXT/ENVIORMENT - For this one I wanted the earbuds to be in a really weird place that they really should not be. I chose to have them in the shower. It ended up creating a really funny visual concept.

PHYISICAL SHAPE SIMILARITY - For this one when I was in the drawing stage of this project I realized that earbuds have a very similar shape to doctor's stethoscopes. So I wanted to create a stethoscope with earbud features to show the shape similarity between the two. 

MATERIAL CHANGE/SWAP/FOCUS - For this one I change the material of the ear pieces of the earbuds. I decided to change them to cactuses.
