Commissioned by Public Art Trust's Rewritten: The World Around Us, NAC for Punggol Waterway Park, Singapore
As we return to these shared public spaces in this post-covid, post circuit breaker period, we yearn for connection (or reconnection) with others and our surroundings, through simple interactions to remind us of this shared human experience in this lifetime.
This project seeks to take advantage of the public space as a playing ground to inject the human touch through little steps as a way of easing into this new reality, a helping hand and 'pick-me-up' as we transition into this deeply transformative, rebirth of our time.
Taking the form of typography and pictograms usually associated with everyday objects and graphics both online and offline as an entry point to the viewer, the works aim to connect to the viewer through simple, short and relatable quotes and other text-based site-specific interventions with a touch of humor scattered throughout the pre-selected site.
