I designed the open and close for this video holiday card released by Eloqua. The story was a marketing spoof of the Grinch who Stole Christmas. Folding paper in 3D programs can get tricky. To achieve this effect, I folded actual paper around a book, and traced the creases and curves. I then replicated the folds on 3D geometry and smoothed out the edges. By using PLA animation in C4D, I was able to achieve a nice unfolding effect on the wrapping paper. I was very happy with the way the lighting and fluid ribbon animation came out.
