This piece is an exploration into the relationship between the individual and the ways in which death and physical trauma are viewed, accepted and propagated within western society.

Printed as a tabloid, I have attempted to visually illustrate what, exactly, sparks such fascination with death, trauma and suffering as depicted within the spectacle of popular culture. Because the provocative nature of the imagery presented within its pages, this piece has the potential to deeply strike nerves within the human psyche. It sears into the viewer, and provides a personal experience, evoking at once fascination and revulsion, inspiring self-identification and realization.
