Design Brief: A start-up cosmetic company requires a branding and packaging system for its introductory high-end line of eco-friendly beauty products. The cosmetics are produced in Brazil, using 100% natural ingredients derived from its indigenous tropical flora. The target consumers are college-level educated women aged 22-45 years with an annual earning between $90K-$250K.
Approach: My approach to this assignment was to create a look of sleek but youthful boldness as well as communicate the products' natural and exotic origins. The wraps were derived from a black linen paper substrate silkscreened with the logo (rooted in the Portuguese word , meaning . The logo contains an accent mark whose shape is derived from the counter of its 'e' and is further incorporated through the die-cut lattice pattern. The vibrant yellow-green substrate of the cartons show through, creating a rhythmic interest.
