TYPOGRAPHER BOOKLET (TAFE SA ASSESSMENT)

Brief Summary
The aim of this assessment task is to provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in using type both functionally and creatively to design, produce and evaluate a typographic booklet using text and imagery. Select a famous typographer and research the history and theory and origin of their typographic practice. Write a review (in your own words) about your chosen typographer. Word count should be 800 – 1200 words.
Plan and produce an eight-page saddle stitched booklet (self-cover) in InDesign with a single page size of 200mm x 200mm with 3mm bleed. Create a grid of three columns per page where you can confidently manipulate and arrange images and type. The booklet must include:
a) A front cover with a title that reflects the content from research collected. The name of the typographer may be used as the headline or subhead.
b) One page of introductory text to introduce the typographer.
c) Four pages of additional information that has been identified relevant about the typographer. Include a history of their achievements.
d) Include also at least one quote from, or about the typographer.
e) A back cover page with your name.
