Project Artist Statement:
I am and avid surfer and ice climber and I consistently struggle to effectively train for my athletic objectives. I created an application that creates an intuitive marketplace and training platform focusing on surfing, climbing and other outdoor adventure sports.
I am a curious and passionate visual designer who is driven to explore the cross roads between art history, accessibility, and intuitive user experiences. I strive to inspire other designers to put ethical and inclusive design first.
The design of the app focuses on industry standards of user centered design, and feedback-iterative design decision making. Throughout the design process I utilized peer feedback to guide decision making on critical areas of the application to ensure that the app best serves my target audience.
Inclusive and accessible design was a driving factor in the creation of Worked. The color palette and typographic choices were made to ensure minimum accessibility standards. The color palette was selected to be effective for color blind individuals. The color choices strongly reference the natural environment. The framing of visual content helps to remind the viewer of why they are purchasing the plan. By putting accessibility first and foremost I hope to show designers that accessibility and aesthetics are not mutually exclusive.

Viewer Feedback Request:
A key aspect of this project was to use user feedback to guide decisions to best serve my target audience. While interacting with the prototype please click the comment button and add feedback! I will look every day and use your feedback to improve the designs in the spirit of human centered design.
