    The course required us to study the essentials of “form” and develop structures by hands on experience with paper. I chose to crease paper along varying curves which lead me to understand that an otherwise flat sheet of paper can be strengthened by folding. Peacock chair was designed as an outcome of the same exercise, where the seamless flow of paper was translated in an envelope of surface that appears to arise out of the seated person, almost engulfing him. The nature of the surface as illustrated in the pictures is read through the pattern of weaving which cocoons the user. Read Less
