Overview
We were set the challege to pick a series of books to re-design. For the project I chose to look at the Viral series by Kathy Reichs. Inspired by the glitchness of the characters withing the book I created a series of three images for the covers by merging two photos together. I then covered the designs in a black thermochromic paint. My reasoning for this was that in bookshops every book is screaming for your attention from the shelves in every colour and font imaginable so I found the idea of having a solid black book appealing. It would only be when the customer handled the book that their body heat would reveal the designs hidden underneath.
Withing the body copy of the books I replaced every V within the text with another 'glitched' version. This allowed the type to look out of the ordinary but without effecting the ability to read the copy.
