Everything was aimed at preserving the shape of life

Everything was aimed at preserving the shape of life, from which all content had leaked out *
acrylic paint on canvas, 50 x 70, 2021

I was inspired by the shape of a shadow that confirms our existence. However, it is only a form, a bit impersonal, as its appearance constantly changes and its color adjusts to the surroundings. It testifies to our being, but also deceives us as to its value - it deforms our silhouette and persecutes us, prompts us to reflect on what is left in us from the content of the shape. The quote leads to a reflection to what extent our individuality and the meaning of life have been violated and how many of them have been preserved in the herd of forms.
The work also refers to the idea of the Plato's cave, referring to the possibility of true cognition and existence only through looking inside oneself. A life that retains only shape, appearance, illusion, without confronting the content - its own values, real being, is only reduced to the shadows of life, persistently following us.
