Welcome to the Anthropocene

Welcome to the Anthropocene
An exploration of decay and renewal.

Selections for the 2013 ReFrame International Film Festival.

A myriad of crises is converging for which we are responsible. The very biosphere that sustains all life is being pushed to the brink of collapse. Our anthropocentric worldview reinforces a paradigm of unfettered growth, indignant competition and limitless waste. Nature has limits and we’ve run up against them. Surrounded by this intensifying decay, an ever-present teacher is there to guide us toward renewal, should we care to pay attention.

Highly textural and at times daunting, the sense of renewal appears insignificant. Much like our present situation, the fact that is there at all should provide hope and learning for us to create a better future.
