Studio Photography

In October 2013, I took the opportunity to practice my work in a studio and then used the resulting photographs as part of my Unit 3 A-Level Photography project.

These photos incorporated the use of studio lighting combined with a flash gun; reflectors and diffusers and other creative props to achieve a professional look that displays a strong connection to the viewer.

For this photoshoot I used a Canon 1100d with the 18-55mm kit lens.  On top of this, I used a Canon Flash Gun that was synced with studio lighting.

I used Photoshop afterwards on some photos that appeared better in black and white.  The strong contrast between the fore and background defined the focal point and enabled the viewer to connect with the model.
For this photo I used a single umbrella with light and a diffuser to achieve a soft natural light that shows the face as the point of focus.
Due to the model's long hair, I wanted to be creative and incorporate something that would add context and points of interest.  This encouraged me to include autumn leaves and pine cones as a resemblance to the Autumn season and to complement the model's dress.

If anyone would be interested in having a photoshoot, either for a special event or just for fun, feel free to message me on here and I'll give you more details.
