Rosé: A machine-stitched, dyed handbag

A handbag that was made during the course Sewing. The fabric was dyed during the course Dyeing and photographed during the Photography course.

Fabrics used: Fine muslin for the body, Cambric for the flap, coat fusing, collar fusing for base and pink cotton fabric for lining.

Arashi Shibori dyed body and clamp dyed flap. The bag is secured with the help of two handmade potli buttons which are joined with a looped handmade dori. The handbag is equipped with three compartments- one without any closure on the front, one without and closure below the flap and one on the inner side with a zipper.

Pictures of the handbag in the sunlight against nature.

Studio pictures of the handbag to represent the personality of the handbag-
Bubbly, Fun, Cool and Elegant.

A few process pictures of the making of the bag.

I would like to thank Sanjay Miskin for teaching and providing inputs on the nuances of sewing, Sakthivel Vilvapathy for guiding the Dyeing course, Saurabh Srivatsava and Vishal Arora for guiding the Photography course and my textile batchmates for their valuable inputs. A special thanks to Ishani Kamat for modelling with the bag.
Feedback is appreciated.
