Then I scanned in each letter/word and put them together and altered some of them, resizing among other adjustments....
Then I printed it out (a few times) to make sure I had the size I needed.. (tiled each section together with double sided tape)
Then covered the board completely with painters tape and used a xacto knife to cut out each letter...
Next, I treated/conditioned the wood to prep it for the stain (I found that conditioning it after using the painters tape gave it a better overall color where the letters were)...
Then I stained the entire piece (had to be really careful not to peal up any of the tape)...
Finally, after the stain dried, I peeled each letter out to reveal the wood...
