Centre Obert d'Arquitectura
The new Open Centre for Architecture is a space for architectural knowledge and culture, for forging links between architecture and society, to promote research, and strengthen its role in innovation.
The Visual Identity explains the uniqueness of its dichotomy: an open center dedicated to architecture that radiates activity, welcomes, projects, beats, explodes, and lives.

Updating the symbol
The Centre Obert d’Arquitectura (Open Center of Architecture) expresses itself with a symbol that radiates activity. It's built on the basis of the circumference radius, forming a C (Center) and an O (Open), which in turn make an A, for Architecture.
We have worked on updating its symbol, investigating the number of lines and their particular finishes, how the letter A is perceived, as well as optimizing the scalability of the symbol.

The Color as Identity
The color range of the Centre Obert is bright and with an accessible vocation, helping to identify it as a center for everyone, one that's diverse and contemporary.
We have also attributed a logical meaning to each color, making it correspond to the different types of content.
The new color code helps us to not only put activities and news in a logical and coherent order according to the type of content but also to introduce color variations that give versatility and diversity to all the communication materials, whether printed or digital.

The Grid as Identity
A rational grid is seldom the basis of architectural reasoning, let alone the COA symbol itself. Starting from the lines –the "rays" of the symbol–, this grid evolves and builds a living, diverse, and radiating structural system.
It is the guiding axis that links all the graphic applications of the Centre Obert d'Arquitectura. Its consistency becomes a recognizable visual language that is adaptable to any type of platform and environment: digital, print, signage, urban communication, etc.
The color of the line adds yet another layer of communication as it refers directly to the typology of the content being presented according to the Center's content organization.
The following examples portray the versatility of the modular system in use

The Visual Identity exposes the Grid behind it in every collateral

The Social Network feed also communicates the versatility and richness of the Centre's graphic system as a whole. Whereas the UI experience reflects its potential when it comes to organising and archiving contents, as well as displaying monthly programmes.
