Humane Society volunteer Aidan Atkinson reveals why he’s proud to lend his support to the organization and its cause.

The Humane Society of the United States is on a mission to end suffering for all animals. In addition to rescuing and caring for thousands of creatures every year, the organization is also committed to taking on the fur trade, animal cosmetics testing, and other cruel industries. It does so with the help of millions of supporters, including athlete Aidan Atkinson.

“With our help, the Humane Society of the United States fights the big fights, working to end all forms of animal cruelty,” reveals Aidan Atkinson, an award-winning athlete from Boulder, Colorado. “They do so in order to achieve the vision behind their name: a humane society,” he adds.

Atkinson is a renowned football player who’s won various awards for his sporting prowess. The athlete has also achieved numerous Colorado state records within football. The quarterback’s past records include career passing yards, passing yards in a game, and career passing touchdowns.

Yet, despite his impressive sporting credentials, Atkinson is most eager to talk more about his work alongside the Humane Society of the United States. “Volunteering with the Humane Society is about working to end the cruelest practices toward all animals,” he explains, “while also caring for those in crisis and building a stronger animal protection movement.”

Athlete Aidan Atkinson goes on to stress the importance of people lending their time and support to the organization. “Volunteers make it possible for the Humane Society to rescue and directly care for animals in need right now,” says the sportsman, “while simultaneously working to end cruelty in the future via crucial educational, legislative, and policy-focused measures.”

The Humane Society of the United States is a part of Humane Society International, which now has a presence in over 50 countries. With that, Atkinson and other volunteers across the U.S. are joined in their efforts by a global roster of some of the world’s top experts in animal welfare.

Humane Society volunteer Aidan Atkinson is also a star student

Aidan Atkinson is a graduate of Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado. At the school, Atkinson was a star quarterback, playing for the Fairview High School Knights. It was during his time on the team that the athlete and proud Humane Society volunteer were named 2018 Gatorade Football Player of the Year. Further to his sporting abilities, he also performed excellently in the classroom.

While at Fairview High School, Atkinson achieved an impressive 3.96 GPA. The award-winning football player was recognized by staff as an outstanding student, a great teammate, and a fantastic leader, as well as for being extremely humble, open, and honest, and for always looking out for the needs of his classmates.

In addition to his passion for sports and volunteering, Aidan Atkinson is similarly interested in politics, public policy, personal finance, and investing. Among his favorite pastimes are reading and spending time outdoors, including walking, hiking, and paddleboarding.
