Created by Frank Hinman Pierport in 1934, then published by Monotype the same year. Rockwell is a Slab Serif font using continuous stroke weight. It has become well recognized by it’s heavy strokes and geometric form such as its capital and lowercase O being more circular rather than elliptical. As such Rockwell has become primarily used as a display font. Some of it’s more canonized letter forms include the capital A’s, Q’s, and O’s for their more distinct forms.
I wanted to give Rockwell a more modern 1980's inspired styling and work from there. I chose this monochromatic and pop out style to continue Rockwell's dynamic upfront attitude. From there I used sets of lines to demonstrate its more geometric properties
