‘Tuol Sleng’ was once a secondary school in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Phenh

 

In 1975 is was transformed into a prison called ‘S.21’ and it became the most infamous prison of the genocide era during the reign of Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge regime.

 

Several thousand victims were imprisoned, tortured, and exterminated here.

Mass graves were discovered nearby.

 

Estimates of deaths resulting from Khmer Rouge policies, range from 1.7 to 2.5 million

The visit was short. The photos were few and not very good.
