I was asked to create artwork for the 2014 Metal4Africa Summer Festival.
The brief was to create something that represents their brand as a gateway to African metal and some design preferences were not to use blatantly evil imagery or symbols, no excess violence or gore, monsters or sinister figures were welcome provided tasteful and a use central character or graphic component.
Basically something that REEKS of metal with a strong African feel.
This design is also used for T-shirts to be sold at the event.
This wasthe first draft, which also turned into the rough pencil work for the final illustration.
The final full-colour illustration. All done in Adobe Photoshop CS5. As a gag I've added my name to the machine head of the guitar that acts as my signature.
