ETNODIM PHOTO PROJECT: IN SEARCH OF POVITRYLIA
What connects the reflections of modern man and folk mythology?
Legends always exaggerate, but never lie.
In addition to deep symbolism, descriptions of rituals and customs of the people, fairy tales give us characters in which we can see ourselves.
The main heroine of the photo project, Christy, goes in search of Povitrylia.
Povitrylia - national Ukrainian mythological positive character female.
She is the daughter of mountain winds, namely the spirit of the free winds of the Carpathians!
Light, gentle, able to move in the air. Stories about her remind us that there were twelve sisters in the air. They loved to dance when the shepherd played the whistle.
In her search for "lightness," Christ was confronted with the fact that she lived through many emotions that she did not delve into and did not define for herself. As if passing by. But do not live to the fullest - does it not mean noticing and understanding your feelings?
Therefore, imagining that this is a dance with twelve sisters during a trip to nature, she analyzes for herself twelve feelings: interest, tenderness, distrust and others. Giving them specific definitions.
Through living emotions, Christ seeks harmony. Povitrylia in myself.
Let's follow the feelings together.
Get barefoot on the grass, look at the mountains, gather grass and be sure to ask yourself, "What or who are you looking for at the moment?"
