The Leadville Trail 100 was initially created to bring tourism to the dying town of Leadville, CO — the once silver mining capital of the world. Challenging the most extreme athletes to bike or run 100 miles in the steep 13,000+ feet terrain of the Rocky Mountains, the course already had a reputation for being badass. Unfortunately, its branding did not. Upon purchasing the Leadville Trail 100 from its originator, Life Time worked hard to bring the brand to life — while preserving the historical integrity of the race. The final product was a refined look, tone, logo, and renaming of Leadville Trail 100 to Leadville Race Series to reflect the true number of race events at Leadville — while leaving the door open for future events.
