INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
In this design, a music venue/exhibition that encourages all ages to experience contemporary and classical music is proposed for the Palazzo Ducale. Currently, the Palazzo has a variation of floor heights that become an accessibility concern; a new flooring structure of a raised grid system is proposed in response. Reducing unwanted noise without dismissing the architectural value is a challenge that is resolved with a system of frames that emulate the arched ceilings and hold sound-absorbing panels, lighting, and amplification systems. This structural proposal strategically responds to the needs of each of the three primary programmed spaces; an Acoustic Music Hall (Grande Cucina), an Amplified Music Hall (Scuderia), and a Pre-function Bar/Lounge (Selleria).

Inspiration emerges from live performances that may host renaissance and contemporary music.
Interactive music exhibits create greater interaction and memorability that patrons may enjoy.
A curved form created by the vaulted interiors of the palazzo allows for a ceiling shape that is not flat.
Acoustic and amplified music can be performed by musical groups ranging from 8-20 musicians.
The proposal invites the audience to have an intimate experience inside of a historical context.
