An early 1900s oil rig violently catches fire after striking oil. BURN is a fully CGI short created by Josh Clos with sound design from Human Robot Soul.

The making-of is a look behind the scenes to see some parts of the production process.

The project was inspired by the iconic scene in the movie There Will Be Blood. Everything was built in Houdini, rendered with Mantra & Redshift and composited in Nuke. The main fire geyser simulation that took over 38 hours and 5 terabytes of hard drive space.
