Fairies - Part 2

After developing my ideas further and experimenting with scale and drawing, I decided to simplify my ideas and let my photos speak for themselves.
As part of my AS Level Photography I decided to focus on surrealism, and in particular, fairies.  This project was a lot of fun and enabled me to recreate childhood fantasies by producing something out of my imagination.  Throughout the course of this unit I gathered influence from various photographers and artists alike, Oliver McNeil, Clare West, Brian Froud and the famous Cottingley Fairies, to name just a few.

The photos shown here are some of my final photos that were used in my final piece.  After deciding on appropriate 'fairy dress' I undertook a photoshoot in Hylands Park, Chelmsford.  Without the use of wings, I positioned my model in chosen areas of interest and got shots from varying levels to achieve variety.  I tried to get my model to appear frightened and wary in human surroundings whilst experimenting with body langauge to convey the idea of this even further.

After the shoot, I conducted some basic editing on Photoshop before super-imposing the wings on the model.  After this, I added light spots and lens flares to achieve a magical setting.
